Keystone Pharma Consulting was founded in 2020 by Dr. Patricia Andres, with the goal of helping biotech companies bridge the gap between drug substance and drug product, through Materials Science and Particle Technology.
Dr Andres has 25 years experience in Materials Science and Particle Technology primarily applied to drug development and holds over 30 patents in the field. She obtained her PhD in Process and Chemical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, specializing in the monitoring and control of crystallization processes of fine organic chemicals. She worked at SSCI where she helped hundreds of pharmaceutical and biotech companies address development challenges, solving complex polymorphism and crystallization issues, and identifying stable polymorphs, salts, cocrystals, and amorphous dispersions to improve physical properties of new development compounds. As the founder and director of the Particle Engineering group dedicated to crystallization process development and particle technology, she regularly presented at Solid State Short Courses. Prior to founding Keystone Pharma Consulting, Dr Andres worked as a consultant at Green Ridge Consulting where she supported drug substance and drug product development teams to address drug product development issues, and contributed to the development of new drug product technology platforms.
